The 1963 organization meeting of the L.W. Community Orchestra in the apartment of Dr. and Mrs. E.J. Hines included Mike Lipston, Esther Hubbard, Hazel and Edgar Hines. Various musicians in the area were contacted and twelve responded to form the Golden Age Orchestra of Leisure World, later changed to the L.W. Community Orchestra of Seal Beach. Dr. Edgar J. Hines was the original director and donated 10 years to this cause.

Mr Gummere was one of the leaders of the group that was petitioning the FHA to remove Ross Cortese's company from being the property management company.

Golden Age Foundation Mobility Aids Program Manager John Hlavac moves mobility aids to his unit and keeps the program running throughout the COVID-19 shutdown by storing equipment at his unit and delivering from there. The Golden Rain Foundation makes access to the storeroom [in Clubhouse 6] available to him so that needed equipment can be transferred on an as-needed basis. Repairs still have to be done in Clubhouse 6 as that is where both the parts and tools are.
